The Mitchell PTO needs your help in order to run to the best of its ability. There are lots of ways you can get involved and show your support for Mitchell Elementary. Take a look at some ideas below and reach out if you have any questions.
Attend a PTO meeting
All parents are welcome to attend the monthly PTO meetings either in person or by Zoom. Attending meetings is a great way to know the latest Mitchell news, have an input on the direction of the school, and meet other parents. Check the weekly PTO email for the monthly zoom link.
Volunteer
We wouldn't be able to put on community-enhancing events without the help of volunteers like you. The following committees are looking for volunteers:
- Fun Run - Help cheer on students as they run the mile long course or volunteer to pass out snacks and water.
- Book Fair - Work a shift as a cashier at one of our three book fairs through out the year and help students discover new books to read.
- Fall Fest - help us celebrate all things Fall by selling tickets, selling concessions or running a game.
- Movie Night - Sign up to help set up, sell concessions or clean up during this fun event.
- International Night - Our biggest event of the year! We always need lots of help with planning, set up and clean up. You can also sign up to make a display board, host a table or provide a dish from a specific country!
- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon - Sign up to help set up, serve lunch, and bring a dish.
- Field Day - Help us support Ms. Rushdan at her annual Field Day. PTO members will be there to cheer on the students while helping run stations, putting on temporary tattoos, handing out popsicles, and cleaning up.
- Ice Cream Social - Our biggest fundraiser of the year! Join in by volunteering to sell concessions and spirit wear, hand out ice cream or help with the raffle and silent auction.

Donate
Money donated toward the PTO will be used to enrich the lives of children and families at the school through field trips, community-enhancing events, teacher resources, and more.
Busch's Fresh Food Market
1. Sign in to your MyWay account or create one.
2. Click on "Busch's Cash for Education."
3. Select Mitchell Elementary from the drop down list and click "Add." You will see Mitchell under the box as shown here:
Box Tops for Education
Collecting Box Tops on the products you regularly purchase is a great way to support the school. There are two ways to particpate.
1.) Clip the Box Top symbol from the packages of your grocceries and have your child give them to their teacher. Each Box Top is 10$ for Mitchell Elementary!
2.) Download the Box Top app and scan your receipt for a quick and easy donation (at no cost to you)! Learn more here.
