GreatIdeas

The Mitchell PTO Great Ideas Grant is a way for individuals to request up to $500 of funds from the PTO to support a great idea that will benefit the Mitchell community!

Eligibility: Any member of the Mitchell community including students, parents, teachers, staff or other individuals who are involved in our school!

How it works: Submit your application via the Great Ideas Grant Google form.  You should have a general description of what you are requesting funds for, how it will benefit the Mitchell community, how the proposal will be carried out and a detailed budget showing how money will be spent.

Applications are due in January (firm date TBD).  The Great Ideas Grant committee, a collection of Mitchell staff, students and PTO members, will meet to review the proposals and determine whether the proposals are suitable for funding.  In the event that more proposals are submitted than grant funds available an evaluation rubric will be used to choose the approved grants.  The rubric consists of the following 5 themes:

Impact What is the scope of the impact that this proposal will have on the larger Mitchell community? Who will benefit?
Feasibility Does the proposal seem like it can actually be carried out given the details provided and within the amount of money requested?
Sustainability/Longevity Is the proposal something that will continue to benefit the community without extra costs, efforts or resources in the long run? Or, are there details in place that explain how these additional efforts will be handled?
Value Does the proposal align with the values and curriculum of Mitchell Elementary?
Need Does the proposal fulfill an area that is high need within our community?

Grants which are approved will be notified after the committee meeting.  Individuals who receive grant funds will work closely with the Great Ideas Grant chair and PTO treasurer to receive reimbursement for purchases associated with the grant or to request the purchase of items within the proposal.  The committee chair will make sure that all funds are used within the scope of what was originally approved.
