Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8-12 and the Mitchell PTO is asking for your help. Every year the PTO does a series of events to let our teachers and support staff know how much we appreciate them. Our Annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 12th. If you would like to participate, please drop off a dish to share in the staff lounge the morning of May 12th. To ensure a variety of dishes, we ask that grades:
- Y5 and Kindergarten bring desserts to share,
- Grade 1 bring veggies and fruit,
- Grade 2 bring crackers, chips and dip,
- Grade 3 bring appetizers,
- Grades 4 and 5 bring main dishes.
We also need volunteers to help with setup for the event. If you are able to be at Mitchell that day, please sign up for one (or more) of the volunteer positions. You can sign up to volunteer or to bring a dish on this Signup Genius. Please label any non-packaged foods and note allergens.
If you are unable to participate in the potluck, there are many other ways to show your teacher that you appreciate them! Here are some ideas:
– Have your student write a thank you note or make a card.
– Make a craft for your teacher
– Send in a treat or gift card for a place they like. Here is a spreadsheet with some teacher preferences if you need ideas on what to give.
– Send a thankful email to this year’s teacher AND/OR a teacher from previous years.
